Graphic Designer

Full Time / Vancouver, BC

Graphic Designer Opportunity:

New team member opportunity at growing business in emerging tech and creative industries.

About the role: We are looking for a creative, hard-working graphic designer with 3-5 years experience to collaborate with our internal design team on client projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a coachable attitude, and bring an exceptional work-ethic to our studio in Yaletown. This is a contract position with a flexible duration between 2-6 months, which we can negotiate, with potential for full-time, permanent, employment in the future.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Brand identity design including, but not limited to: logo, typographic style, palette, stationery, brochures, etc.
  • Crafting Style Guides and Brand Guides for client projects for internal partners and external clients.
  • UI design that follows existing Brand Guidelines and industry best practices.
  • UX design that follows existing Brand Guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Adjusting to the nature of a fast-paced studio environment with multiple projects, deadlines, and varying degrees of guidance and client direction.
    • In some cases, you will be given creative control, while on other projects you will be led with clear instructions. The ideal candidate must handle both situations professionally.
  • Front-End Web Development may be required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3-to-5 years of professional graphic design experience is preferred.
  • A solid portfolio of work (this is the most valuable component of the selection process).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • Studio or Agency experience is an asset.
  • Degree in graphic design, UI design, or UX design is an asset.
  • Experience with Google Apps is an asset.
  • Photo, video, and social media experience is an asset.
  • HTML, C++, Java experience is recommended.

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary.

Compensation: Based on experience.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee projects for our studio.

About the team:

We are a team of collaborative 3D artists, producers, designers, and managers who deliver award-winning simulations for architects, engineers, and developers. We are innovators and dreamers that want to love the work we do and who we do it with.

About you:

Our ideal candidate is passionate about design, architectural visualization, technology and takes great pride in communicating with clients effectively and keeping a creative team organized. You must have exceptional interpersonal and client services skills and be able to effectively deal with problems in a timely manner. In addition, you are a proactive multitasker who works well under pressure to deliver under tight deadlines with little supervision. You’re a strong communicator whether it be in person, phone, email or note-taking. You’re eager to learn and always looking for ways to challenge your multidisciplinary project management skills, whether they are focused on architectural visualization, design, web development, virtual reality or all of the above.

Responsibilities include:

Communicate with clients to determine their needs and be a point of contact for the project
Collaborate with the in-house team and external vendors to plan, execute and finalize projects according to client specifications, budget and deadlines
Maintain, display and communicate a clear understanding of the creative strategy on all projects and interactions in collaboration
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, while weighing the importance of specific jobs and prioritizing accordingly
Develop, monitor, manage and revise project scope, budgets, timelines and processes, keeping team abreast of changes and concerns
Consistently demonstrate initiative and seek out new ways to improve systems and processes for how we work with our colleagues and clients
Coordinate project team members, including third-party contractors as needed

Key Performance Indicators:

# of projects completed each week
Accuracy of programming and production time
Client satisfaction survey results upon project completion

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
3 to 5 years direct work experience in project management, preferably in a creative agency, architecture, visual effects, technology or interior design firm
Experience working with or as a 3D artist, architect or animator an asset
Working knowledge of a combination of 3D Studio Max, Vray, Corona, Adobe Photoshop and other 3D modeling software
Experience in project managing web development, graphic design, and video considered an asset
PMP Certification is encouraged

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. Full benefits package upon successful completion of three-month probationary period.
